Abstract
INTRODUCTION
The online survey was conducted to assess the impact of digital learning, which has come into prominence during COVID-19 pandemic, revolutionizing medical education of ophthalmology residents and practitioners.
METHODOLOGY
A questionnaire was prepared based on digital education and classroom learning and was sent to ophthalmologists throughout the country during July to December 2020. The responses were tabulated and analysed.
RESULTS
Of the 368 respondents, we noted a preference of 25-35 yr age group (54.3%) towards evening sessions (70.2%) on weekends (45.1%) lasting less than 1 hour (85.7%) attended on mobile phones (66.3%) and laptops (27.2%). 59.8% asserted that they would prefer a mix of digital and conventional learning in the future.
CONCLUSION
The surge in digital education is a boon in disguise which makes available education content online, as well as helps in continuous medical education, which is the need of the hour in this technology dependent generation.
