Abstract
We present an interesting case of ocular trauma wherein the patient suffered combination of penetrating(Obvious) and blunt trauma(Occult).34 year old male presented with trauma to left eye with a stone thrown during personal altercation. On evaluation he had full thickness corneal laceration with iris prolapse. Gross involvement of anterior segment averted thorough posterior segment evaluation. He was taken up for primary repair of corneal laceration. On Postop day 1 he didn’t gain much vision so a complete posterior segment evaluation was performed revealing sub-macular haemorrhage, Intravitreal tissue plasminogen activator and SF6 were injected followed by gain of vision to 6/60. More gain in vision is expected after removal of sutures contributing to astigmatism. It was an interesting case which highlights the importance of posterior segment evaluation in case of ocular traumas as multiple injuries might be present which can be curtailed due to grievous nature of associated injury.
