Abstract
Aim:To evaluate outcomes of High dose(40mcg) injectable subconjunctival MMC in failing or failed blebs. Methods:Prospective study.30 eyes of 30 consecutive patients, who had undergone trabeculectomy(>6weeks &<1 year)& had flat bleb/tenon’s cyst/high IOP requiring medications were selected. These patients were given high dose(40mcg) injectable subconjunctival MMC along with needling.Baseline & follow up visits were compared to find out the significant difference in AGM, IOP and BCVA Results: Mean (SD) of the age is 59.93 (9.7) years. The IOP decreased from 24.72+/-6.5mmHg (range12–43)to 17.52+/-4.2mmHg (range13–28) after injection at last follow‑up (P < .0001).AGM reduced from median1.00+/-0.98(range 0–3) to Median1.96+/-1.11(P=0.050,range 0-4) at the final visit.Overall success rate was 78.2% after 1year.There were no complications post injection Conclusion:High dose injectable subconjunctival MMC appears to be a good option for rescuing failing blebs & avoids need for repeat major surgery
