Abstract
25years old female presented with fever for 7 days associated with vomiting. Complete blood count, platelet count, thyroid function test, widal test, leptospira IgG IgM, ESR, CRP, smear for malarial parasite, liver function test, renal function test, serum electrolytes, ultrasonography abdomen, MRI brain was done. IgG and IgM was found to be positive for dengue NS1 AG. The patient was started on systemic antibiotics empirically and hydration was maintained with iv fluids. On the 2nd day of admission, she developed headache and diplopia. Ocular examination revealed bilateral restriction of abduction and convergent squint in both the eyes. On fundus examination, papilledema was noted in both eyes. Patient was started on iv solumedrol and mannitol along with supportive measures. Extraocular movements improved and the squint resolved over a period of 5 days. This case is presented for its rare presentation of bilateral papilledema with abduction restriction in dengue fever.
