Abstract
The aim is to report a new surgical technique in the management of delayed repair of unsutured canalicular tear It is a series of two patients .Case 1-A 23-year old male presented with proximal canalicular block in the right eye following road traffic accident happened 6 months before. There was a scar extending from the upper canaliculus to the lower canaliculus . After informed consent, the patient underwent scar exploration with wedge resection in both eye lids under local anaesthesia. Post operatively, after excising the scar, the distal canaliculus was found out and the wound sutured in a routine fashion with mini monoka stent. After 4 weeks, the stent was removed and syringing was patent. Case 2 is A 31 yr old presented with distal unsutured canalicular tear with lid notch following Road Traffic accident.In the management of late presentation of unsutured or missed canalicular tear ,scar excision with wedge resection can be attempted to obtain a successful outcome
