Abstract

A 14 year old boy presented to the OPD with chief complaints of pain, redness and diminution of vision in right eye. He gave history of trauma with vegetative matter to the right eye while playing . On examination, visual acuity in the right eye was HMCF , PR accurate and 6/6 in left eye. On slit lamp examination of right eye: there were greyish infiltrates with feathery margins , few satellite lesions ,corneal thinning and hypopyon and left eye was within normal limits. A probable diagnosis of right fungal corneal ulcer was made and patient was started on treatment and kept on regular follow up. The ocular ultrasound was normal. On follow up ,he came with right perforated corneal ulcer with anterior staphyloma. He was then admitted but showed no improvement and was posted for right eye tectonic keratoplasty . Tectonic keratoplasty was performed and post keratoplasty there was a significant improvement in right eye visual acuity. Two weeks post op, UCVA in the right eye was 6/60.
