Abstract
Background: When Covid 19 struck worldwide it seemed total darkness for postgraduate trainees (PGT). The number of patients – the main source knowledge, reduced dramatically.
Aim: To find out benefits for PGT during Covid pandemic.
Methods: An Observational study was done during the pandemic to analyse PGT training.
Results: The number of online webinars conducted by State and National Ophthalmological Societies increased exponentially. These webinars with videos, had pan India faculty who were experts in their fields. They benefited all the PGT.
During the pandemic the PGT could devote more time to research.
Usually only few PGT can attend the Conferences. But during the pandemic all the PGT could present papers at National Conference and even International Conference virtually at nominal cost.
Conclusion: Though the pandemic affected PGT teaching, it also provided a silver lining in the form of excellent Webinars and opportunity to present at National and International Conferences.
