Abstract
Aim: To present a challenging case of choroidal mass that turned up as choroidal melanoma on imaging.
Presentation: A 29 year old male patient presented with defective vision in left eye since 3 months with visual acuity 6/36. Right eye had vision of 6/6 and was clinically normal. On B scan the choroidal mass was heterogeneous with uniform homogenous moderate internal reflectivity. FFA showed absence of disc leak. Multimodal imaging proved the absence of inflammatory pathologies. Magnetic resonance imaging of the orbit with contrast showed hyperintense signals in T1 weighted imaging and hypointense signals in T2 weighted imaging suggestive of choroidal melanoma.
Conclusion: Careful meticulous evaluation of masqueardes of inflammation should alert the clinician and clinch the correct diagnosis avoiding unnecessary anti-inflammatory treatment.
