Abstract
We report a case of 18 year old female patient admitted in medicine ward for severe anaemia and referred to eye department for sudden diminution of vision in both eyes (best corrected vision in both eyes are 6/60). On ophthalmologic examination bilateral pale tarsal conjunctiva , pale optic disc, massive pre retinal haemorrhage , Roth spots , macular oedema , macular haemorrhage were observed. Blood tests revealed her to have a haemoglobin of 2gm/dl and diagnose of Megaloblastic anaemia . she was treated with several blood transfusion and Vitamin B12 and Folate supplementation . After treatment with several Blood transfusion and Nutritional supplement patient showed prompt resolution in haemorrhages and improvement in vision.
