Abstract
As per CVOS, CRVO patients had an initial median visual acuity of 20/80. In another study by Hayreh et al, they concluded that the initial visual acuity was 20/200 or worse in 22% of eyes with ni-CRVO. Here we present a case of CRVO with Snellen visual acuity of 6/6. A 31 years old male presented with a feeling of discomfort in his left eye for the last 10 days & came in for a routine examination. His vision in both eyes was 6/6 and the anterior segment was normal. On dilated fundus examination of the left eye, we found disc edema, engorged, tortuous retinal veins, multiple intraretinal deep haemorrhages in all quadrants with multiple cotton wool spots. OCT revealed normal macular contour with an average thickness of 296µ explaining his 6/6 vision! The patient was kept under observation and given home Amsler charts to watch out for metamorphopsia. Observation, explaining the warning signs & regular examinations can aid in maintaining good visual acuity despite the extensive disease.
