Abstract
A 28-year-old male patient presented with diminution of vision in both eyes since 1 week gradual in onset, progressive and painless.On examination Visual acuity in right eye was Counting fingers 2 meters and left eye was 6/6.The anterior segment of both eyes were normal.The right eye fundus showed disc hyperemia,cotton wool spots around the disc,and an incomplete macular star.The left eye fundus showed a cotton wool spot along the inferior arcade.Right eye SDOCT showed macular edema and left eye OCT was normal.The patient gave a history of viral fever 1 month back for which he was started on injection Acyclovir.CSF analysis showed features of viral encephalitis.The patient was diagnosed with post-viral neuroretinitis and was started on oral steroids and oral Acyclovir.On follow up after 3 months patients vision in the right eye improved to 6/12 and on fundoscopy cotton wool spots reduced completely and foveal reflex was present,OCT of right eye showed resolution of macular edema.
