Abstract
Reporting 45 year old female with history of organophosphorous poisoning 1 month back,presented with complaint of blurring of vision both eyes.On examination visual acuity found to be hand movement positive in both eyes.Pupil was having sluggish reaction.Jerky nystagmus was present.Fundus showed bilateral disc oedema with massive retinal bleeding.OCT-ONH showed severe bilateral disc oedema.MRI showed bilateral near symmetrical high signal intensity at medial aspect of thalami without mass effect or diffusion restriction which suggested Creutzfeldt –Jakob Disease .Patient was treated with conservative management.
It is well reported that patients with CJD present initially to ophthalmologist .Though the condition is rare,it is important to familiarize with it because of potential risk of transmitting it inadvertently ,particularly by means of ophthalmic surgery.
