Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide recommendations, risk of side effects in patients with inflammatory eye disease treated with immunosuppressive therapy for general ophthalmologists. Method- Although corticosteroids is the one of the mainstays management of patients with ocular inflammation, many ophthalmologists, knowing corticosteroid side effects, are hesitate to start immunosuppressive drugs (for example, antimetabolites, T-cell inhibitors, and alkylating agents). In this study we discussed about very basic knowledge of Immunosuppressive therapy for general ophthalmologists for their day to day practice, so that they can start the therapy without referring. A well-designed, comprehensive, long-term follow-up study is required to evaluate the risk of side effects in ophthalmic patients treated with Immunosuppressive therapy. Conclusion – we recommend the adoption of preventative strategies to help minimize the risk of side effects in such patients
