Abstract

INTRODUCTION : We present a case of neurosensory detachment of retina involving macula following COVID vaccination

CASE REPORT: A 31 year old patient came with a complaint of blurring of vision associated with distortion of images & objects appearing smaller in LE since 10 days. 25 days back he took his first dose of COVISHIELD vaccine, later after few days he had mild dizziness followed by blurring of vision. Following his second dose he had SCH on the second day of vaccination in left eye again. On examination :RE-6/6, LE-6/24/NIPH/NIF

LE Fundus examination (78D), OCT showed epiretinal membrane, neurosensory layer edema with subretinal fluid at macula

CONCLUSION : Of various presentations learnt during this pandemic exudative retinal detachment is one rare presentation following covid vaccination. Apart from protective immunogenic response this is one unfair ocular response noted to COVISHIELD vaccine.
