Abstract
phacoemulsification followed by foldable PCIOL implantation, is a standard procedure for treating cataract for several years now. a continueous persuit for better IOLs to acheive accomodation and good vision at all distances has led to the development of a variety of multifocal and extended focus IOLs.
However because of the cost factor and technical expetese, monfocal PCIOLs still form the major proportion of cataract surgeries.
The paper highlights the occurence of accomodation to some extent even after monofocal implantation.
