Abstract
To document Vision, SD-OCT, Multi-color image, IR & FAF & prognosis in 9eyes of 5patients of solar retinopathy & to evaluate visual recovery & OCT changes over 6months. It’s a prospective, observational case series. All underwent vision, refraction, fundus examination – Red free fundus, Autofluorescence(AF), and SD-OCT & follow up for 6m. Mean age19yr(9–32yr). VA ranged from 0.4-0.9. At presentation, SD-OCT showed disruption of the photoreceptor-ellipsoid zone, the interdigitation zone & HRS. At 6m, 100% showed improvement in OCT but only 40% had complete resolution & VA improvement. Outer retinal hole persisted in 60%. Degree of resolution correlated with presenting VA, younger age, degree of outer retinal disruption & presence of HRS in posterior vitreous. Multi-modal imaging, AF correlates best with persistent outer retina disruption & poor VA. Solar retinopathy has good prognosis yet no improvement is noted after 3month. Young age with poor VA & presence of HRS is a poor prognosis
