Abstract
AIM :To report two cases of corneal allograft rejection post COVID 19 vaccination and approach towards its management
Methods :A 39 year old male with Left eye PKP done 3 years back presented with signs and symptoms of acute endothelial graft rejection after 3 weeks of vaccination .A 40 year old female with Right eye PKP done 2 years back ,presented with signs and symptoms of Acute endothelial graft rejection after 4 days of vaccination .Both patients were treated with topical steroids .
CONCLUSION :Our case report points towards the possibility of casual association of COVID-19 vaccination and corneal allograft rejection .The Clinicians and patients should be aware of potential risk of the of corneal graft rejection post vaccination .The early detection and intervention is to be done to avoid vision threatening complication .Ophthalmologists can consider COVID 19 vaccination as a pre requisite for keratoplasty and if possible delay non emergency keratoplasty surgeries.
