Abstract
To highlight the significance of fundus evaluation in diagnosing leukemia . 63 year old male known diabetic , hypertensive , hyperlipidemic presented with DOV in OD post cataract surgery . BCVA OD – 6/24 , OS – 6/6 .Fundus evaluation revealed SNPDR OU and roth’s spot OD . Patient was advised urgent blood investigations , on the basis of which the diagnosis of CML was made and was started on tablet imatinib ( 300mg/day ).Further he developed CME OU for which he received multiple intravitreal anti VEGF injections with suboptimal response . Results – Fundus evaluation helped in diagnosis of CML . Conclusion – The presence of roth`s spot were the telltale sign which prompted to investigate and led to diagnosis , also to discuss and unfury causes of fluctuating cystoid macular edema which could be related to leukemia itself , side effect of imatinib treatment , diabetic maculopathy , post operative cystoid macular edema or related to deranged renal parameters .
