Abstract
Interesting case of a 36 years old female presented with complaints of fever, cough and breathlessness and was diagnosed as a case of COVID-19,started on treatment as per hospital protocol. Due to worsening of the symptoms she was put on ventilatory support following which she developed redness, diminution of vision and watering of both eyes . On evaluation she was found to have bilateral endogenous endophthalmitis with stromal abscess. Blood culture, urine culture and vitreous tap for culture showed no growth. She was managed with intravitreal antibiotics,fortified antibiotic eye drops,antifungal eye drops. 4 weeks after treatment patient regained vision of 1/60 in both eyes and subsequently underwent penetrating keratoplasty in both the eyes.This is a rare case of bilateral endophthalmitis with stromal abscess in a severe COVID-19 patient on ventilatory support.
