Abstract
Purpose – To present a case of Rheumatic Heart Disease presenting with choroiditis.
Methods- 22 year old patient of Rheumatic Heart Disease status post Covid was referred with diminished vision to OPD .BCVA was R/E -6/12(p), L/E-6/9 .Fundus examination revealed RE Central choroiditis.
TREATMENT- Topical steroids were started after detailed evaluation under cover of systemic antibiotics. Improvement in visual acuity and retinal lesions was noted.
DISCUSSION- Rheumatic Heart Disease, a heterogeneous disease involving cardiac valves, is a life threatening condition. Various eye manifestations include retinal hemorrhages and microemboli. Rarely these may be sight threatening and early management can prevent permanent sequalae.
