Abstract
DESIGN:cross sectional observational study done on hospital based patient who underwent manual SICS from July 2020-july2021.
MATERIAL&METHODS:age,sex,operation notes&detailed clinical examination done using slit lamp biomicroscopy of 1st post op day of 128 pts.
Surgical technique of wound construction & its relevance to incidence of post-op hyphema on pod 1 was analysed.
RESULT:out of 128 pts 11 (7.9%)pts had hyphema on pod 1. Among those PREMATURE ENTRY was attributed to 3 (27.2%)pts, DEEP TUNNEL 2(18.18%)pts, IRIDODIALYSIS to 1PT(9.09%),VIGROUS I&A in 2pts(18.18%), POOR INSTRUMENT HANDLING in 1PT(9.09%),EXTENSION OF WOUND in 1pt(9.09%).in 1pt no any cause can b attributed.
CONCLUSION:training of proper tech of wound construction & proper handling of surgical instruments can avoid this complication.
