Abstract
Purpose:To report case of (RE)optic atrophy and (LE)Papillitis in 13Y/F.
Method:A 13Y/F presented with c/o diminution of vision(BE),(RE)since 1yr,(LE)since 1 month. H/o fall of colour water in (RE)1yr ago f/b gradually diminished vision and h/o fever for 5days,one month back. O/E BCVA (RE)PL-ve,(LE)HM,(BE)A/S-NAD,pupil–(RE) RAPD,(LE) NSRL,fundus (RE) pale disc, (LE) medium sized disc, blurred disc margins,vessels-normal,macula- healthy.Patient was advised MRI Brain with contrast which showed (RE)optic atrophy and (LE)optic neuritis changes.CBP-normocytic normochromic with hypochromic cells,ESR=30mm1hr,HBV, anti-HCV-NR and Anti-aquaporin4IgG and Anti MOG ab-ve.
Results:Patient was given 5 doses inj IV Methylprednisolone,5 cycles of plasmapheresis and 2 doses inj.rituxumab.Post-treatment BCVA (RE)PL-ve and (LE)6/36NIF.Patient advised follow-up.
Conclusion:Timely presentation of patient and management in this case of papillitis saved vision in this one eyed child.
