Performing eye examination of a child is substantially different from that of an adult eye. The special skillset required makes it a daunting task for most general ophthalmologists. This becomes even more challenging in the presence of strabismus. Since eye conditions in children can have long-term impact on visual functions proper examination is of paramount importance. For strabismus, proper evaluation and management is vital in aligning the eyes and restoring binocularity.

This course focuses on performing an effective eye examination and refraction in children along with current concepts in management of amblyopia. Case based approach to strabismus is discussed with useful pearls derived from the vast experience of the instructors. Presentations are rich in clinical photographs, surgical videos and evidence-based algorithms. Audience participation is encouraged after each presentation. The audience will be encouraged to independently diagnose and evolve management strategies.
