Cataract surgery has bee revolutionised to the extent that now it has been treated as cataract refractive surgery. with the demands and exception of patients, we the ophthalmologist need to deliver best to achieve the goal of spectacle free nearly 6/6 vision. If we just calculate our figures of patients undergoing cataract surgery with astigmatism more than 1.25D, it would be around 20%. This course deals with understanding of concept of astigmatism, meridians and axis, what are the tools available to calculate power of astigmatism. How to incorporate in formulae to get appropriate IOL power. what are different modalities available to treat astigmatism and their limits. also, to discuss video assisted tips and practical points in marking axis and treating IOL rotation of toric IOLs.
