Abstract
Purpose: to innovate a new and easy technique to remove soft cataract by phaco-emulsification for beginner surgeons. Method: After hydro, nucleus is trenched as normal. If cataract is very soft then it can’t be divided easily. For beginner surgeon there is a significant risk for PCR. So the novice surgeon can prolepses a pole of nucleus after small trench. Then from 2 opposite side port 2 sinsky are introduced, and penetrate the nucleus through and through at the trenched part and divide the cataract into 2 halves. Then push one half into the bag, and second half is emulsified easily in AC. Result: with this method, novice surgeon can easily manipulate the soft cataract which can cause problem during chopping even in experienced hand. Post operative clear cornea will be beneficial. Conclusion: this novel “SWORD FIGHT CHOP” technique during phaco for soft nucleus, is easy to learn, fast, reproducible with less capsular and corneal complication, should be popular among ophthalmologists.
