Abstract
Descemet’s membrane detachment (DMD) is a common complication of cataract surgery. Air descemetopexy is an effective method of treating DMD. Details on the precise technique of air descemetopexy are lacking. Authors demonstrate the use of a small air bubble to unroll the stripped DMD scroll and a large air bubble as a tamponade to fix stripped DMD. The inferior border of DMD presenting late may get impacted to the back of the corneal stroma DMD. The authors also demonstrate manual disimpaction of DMD and air descemetopexy to reattach the impacted DMD. A proper technique of using air tamponade enhances the success of air descemetopexy. Air descemetopexy should be tried in all cases of DMD before considering endothelial keratoplasty.
