Abstract
A 20-year-old boy presented to us with history of trauma to left eye while working on lathe machine. A primary corneo-limbal tear repair was done and no intra-ocular foreign body was seen in the anterior chamber intra-operatively. Post corneo-limbal tear repair, various investigations like X-ray, ultrasonography B scan and ultra biomicroscopy revealed a metallic intra-ocular foreign body (IOFB) in anterior vitreous cavity just behind the root of iris. The intraocular foreign body was removed using no vitrectomy technique through para plana with intra ocular rare earth magnet (neodymium magnet). The surgery depicts the lost art of trans scleral IOFB removal utilizing the commonly available rare earth magnet.
