Abstract

Nystagmus, is a topic which is usually dreaded by budding and practicing comprehensive ophthalmologists alike.

This video illustrates a systematic approach for evaluation and management of Nystagmus by using the unique mnemonic VISION;

where V- Visual acuity assessment, I- Investigations, S- Surgical management, I- Neuro’I’maging, O- Optical correction, N- Nystagmus description.

This simplified version of an otherwise challenging topic enables an effortless learning by residents/ fellows as well as assists the treating clinician in his/her daily practice.

The mnemonic is crafted in such a way that no aspect of Nystagmus is missed.
