Abstract
A 80 year old man presented with a painless swelling in the right eye lower lid medial side 1month duration with the history of 4 time attacks of scleritis for which he had taken treatment oral corticosteroid in tapering doseas and eye was quite.He was a known diabetic on insulin for 25 years,known hypertensive 30 years on treatment,H/o seizure for which he was on anti convulsant. After conservative treatment for 2weeks chalazion was incised .during the incision a livewarm of around 10cm came out.After histopathological examination it came out to be a case of female onchocerca volvulus, he was given tab Ivermectin &albendazole .MRI was done to rule out any intrcranial leison .after proper treatment after 1year followup the eye is quiet. parasitic skin nodule was misdiagnosed as chalazion which was not in the proper site and previous history ,careful examination and documents are always important to think and will help for diagnosis and avoid unnecessary haphazrd treament .
