Abstract
The USP of this video theatre is the augmented reality (AR) program named, ‘Eye_MG_AR’ innovated by us, to show various anatomical parts of the eye, from multiple customised angles of the neophyte’s choice to simplify concept learning. Various anatomical and pathological 3D eye models; along with complex structures relevant to ophthalmology, such as cavernous & dural sinus are constructed in advanced real-time 3D photoreal visuals, using own patient’s gonioscopic and fundus pictures, for immersive visual experiences. This pedagogical transformation in e-ophthalmology, aims to reinvent approach to ophthalmic teaching through virtual platforms. This AR application is constructed with pioneering ways of cult teaching, and is currently available in both android and iphone platforms, free of cost. Incepting gameful 3D learning in ophthalmology (Gamification), with deep visualisation and cinematic experiences has never been reported, and can pave the way for a new age in ophthalmic pedagogy.
