Abstract
Presence of emulsified silicone oil leads to many complications, glaucoma being one of the most common problem. Adequate IOP control is difficult to achieve with medical management and surgical intervention is often required. Glaucoma drainage devices often remain first line of surgical intervention in such cases, albeit with risk of tube occlusion with emulsified oil droplets. On slit lamp examination, candle wax appearance of silicone oil can be appreciated, causing blockade of tube and resulting in raised IOP post operatively, most often refractory to medical management. Re-implantation of AGV is often the treatment option. Our surgical technique offers rapid and effective intervention for such cases. Introduction of venting incisions in tube caused partial resolution of occlusion along and intracameral flushing of tube led to complete resolution of tubal occlusion resulting in patent AGV tube. Post operatively, normal IOP was achieved.
