Abstract
Introduction:It is an idiopathic occlusive vasculitis characterized by periphlebitis, vascular occlusion&subsequent neovascularization seen in young males
Case report: A 23 year old male came with complaint of diminution of vision in RE(CF-3 meters).Vision in LE 6/6. 0.5+ cells in AC, 1+ vitreous cells. In RE fundus NVD,preretinal haemorrhage on disc, fibrovascular proliferative band in the inferotemporal arcade.Snowball opacities in inferior quadrant of the vitreous,RPE atrophic changes in macula.FFA showed Leakage& neovascularization along the inferior arcade
Diagnosis:Eales disease(Stage3a)with uveitis
Treatment:Treated with topical&oral steroids,AntiVEGF,vision improved to CF-5meters,preretinal haemorrhage,NVD&NVE are decreased
Conclusion:Prognosis is good.Major cause of visual loss is recurrent vitreous hemorrhages.Prompt diagnosis&treatment prevent the complications of neovascularization leading to significant vision loss
