Abstract
A 24 year old female presented with sudden blurring of vision in both eyes after undergoing ERCP for choledocholithiasis 12 hours back. She gave a history of projectile vomiting few hours after the procedure. It was then followed by acute onset of blurring of vision. On examination, vision in both eyes was perception of hand movement close to face .There was bilateral RAPD present. Rest of the anterior segment was normal. Her blood parameters were suggestive of post ERCP pancreatitis (elevated serum amylase ,lipase) . Fundoscopy revealed small hypopigmented patches over macula .OCT was normal. VEP showed bilateral demyelinating optic neuropathy. MRI brain showed bilateral geniculate body infarction. MRI orbit showed no significant change. Patient was jointly attended to by department of neurology and ophthalmology. Patient was given conservative treatment and was kept in regular follow up. She regained vision of 6/36 at the end of 1 month and is currently under follow up.
