Abstract
Purpose:Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia is collectively used for pre-cancerous and cancerous epithelial lesions of the conjunctiva and cornea. It includes dysplasia,carcinoma in-situ and invasive squamous cell carcinoma.About three-fourth cases are diagnosed in older patients.
Method:A 60 year farmer presented with chief complaint of painless mass in right eye for 4months.The mass was sudden in onset and rapidly progressive in nature. It was associated with redness and didnot resolve to topical medications.
Results:On ocular examination his vision was 6/12 with nuclear sclerosis grade 2 in both eyes. A well defined whitish worm like lesion was present near limbus occupying 2 clock hours. The base of lesion was vascularised and was relatively immobile over eyeball. After proper workup surgical excision was done and mass was sent for histopathological analysis.
Conclusion:Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia should be diagnosed at an earliest to prevent dreadful ocular complications.
