Abstract
Introduction:
Corneal transparency is a vital predictor of corneal graft survival and is reflective of in-vivo corneal dynamics. CCT is measurable indicator for overall corneal health and can be a useful bio marker.
Methods:
The outcome measures of the study were VA, graft clarity grade and CCT parameters at 1, 3 and 6 months.
Result:
Total of Forty five eyes of 45 (n=45) of patients undergoing optical PK (OPK) of either sex were recruited.
Mean CCT by at 1, 3 and 6 months was 610.5 µm, 577.8 µm and 543.6 µm respectively.
ROC curve and CCT cut off were calculated at 1, 3 and 6 month.
Discussion:
Vincent et al., have reported the average graft central thickness at 1 and 6 months in successful transplants was 558µm and 533 µm respectively.
Conclusion: CCT >615 µm at 1 month or >582 µm at 3 months or >537 µm at 6 months can be used as a cut off to predict or apprehend poor outcomes.
