Abstract
A 45yrs old female with no systemic co-morbidities presented with gradual progressive diminution of vision in the left eye since 1.5 months accompanied with headache since 15 days. Vision in the left eye inaccurate projection of rays with absent direct pupillary light reflex. On examination, the left eye was mildly congested with rubeosis in the inferolateral sector, IOP-38mmHg with faint glow from the fundus. Indirect ophthalmoscopy showed a large area of retinal detachment in the superotemporal region. B-scan and MRI diagnosed the presence of an intraocular mass in the temporal region, occupying more than half of the globe, not involving the extraocular structures, diagnosed to be a uveal melanoma. USG abdomen was done to rule out metasatses .Patient underwent enucleation, and the specimen sent for HPE was diagnosed as pigmented uveal melanoma (mixed cell type). The patient was followed up until 1 month post-surgery after which she was lost for followup during second wave of COVID.
