Abstract
Purpose: To report varied presentations and management of Basal Cell Carcinoma(BCC) of lid.Method :We report 4 cases of BCC involving the lid that presented to us at tertiary care centre.Detailed history alongwith complete ocular examination including ocular motility, visual assessment and slit lamp examination was done.Complete ocular & adnexal examination was done and the location, nature, extent, tenderness, ulceration were noted.All patients underwent surgical excision of the lesion and the sample sent for HPE and the diagnosis confirmed.Result :Excision biopsy done and lid reconstruction done in best way possible and the patients followed up to look for any recurrence.Conclusion:BCC is a malignant epidermal carcinoma. It is the most common eyelid malignancy, accounting for over 90% of malignant eyelid neoplasms.Diagnosis is based on HPE and radical excision of the skin defect forms the basis of definitive treatment from ophthalmic point of view.
