Abstract
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A 42 year old male presented with a 4 months history of mass in left eye gradually increasing in size associated with watering, occasional redness and pain .On examination best corrected visual acuity was 6/12.A pinkish mass 1.5×1 cm in size was found encroaching cornea from 1 to 6 o clock with superficial vascularity over swelling.CT scan was suggestive of a mass lesion. Intraoperatively extension of mass into the lateral rectus muscle was seen . Pathological examination confirmed the lesion as OSSN – squamous cell carcinoma with free margins .Excision biopsy was done .AMG and cryo were given .Patient was put on mitomycin C .
RESULTS:Excisional biopsy report was suggestive of OSSN
CONCLUSION:OSSN when giant sized can be well managed by a multidisciplinary team comprising radiodiagnostics, good surgical skill with adequate margins, and pathological confirmation. Post op treatment and adequate follow up is essential to prevent recurrences.
