Abstract
Study assessed satisfaction with pediatric-eye services at 6VCs in SouthIndia & evaluated reasons for dropouts on referral. Standard-Validated-Satisfaction-Questionnaire(VSQ)& validated-barrier-questionnaire(VBQ) was used. Responses were assessed on 5-point Likert-scale:0-4(very dissatisfied-very satisfied)against each response.Referral letter with referral reasons(urgent/non-urgent) were evaluated. On non-reporting, parents were enquired for barrier factors on phone. 250patients of PREPP-study were included. Accessibility, waiting-time, financial aspects,& teleophthalmology were evaluated. Overall satisfaction was 75%. Reasons for dissatisfaction were lack of meeting doctor (57%).14 of 47 referrals didn’t report, & were evaluated for barriers. Most had financial(43%),knowledge(28.6%) & time barrier(14%). PREPP-II demonstrated that 3/4th of pediatric patients are happy to be treated at VCs with teleophthalmology services. 1/4th didn’t report due to financial reason & lack of awareness
