Abstract
CASE1-A 3month girl premature baby presented with a swelling increasing gradually on left eyelid of 2months duration. On examination:pinkish round swelling of 4X4cm noted over the left eye upper lid with bluish hue.Consistency soft,increases size on crying .MRI orbit venogram showed capillary haemangioma and was started on Oral PROPRANOLOL 0.5mg/kg/day(premature dose).CASE2-A 3 yrs girl presented with swelling on the right eye of 2 years duration,gradually progressive with pain.On examination Right eye proptosis with peri-orbital ill defined swelling in upper and lower lids with size of swelling increased on crying. Conjunctival congestion and chemosis was seen. MRI orbit venogram showed soft tissue hemangioma of the right orbit and was started on Oral PROPRANOLOL 1mg/kg/day.Treatment was continued for 6 months with complete regression of lesion.Propranolol therapy is an efficacious and relatively safe treatment of periocular capillary hemangioma.
