Abstract
AIM: To compare the Visual acuity before and after simultaneous SICS and pterygium excision with inferior limbal-conjunctival autograft transplantation.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:30Adults were studied from August 2020 to August 2021 Visual acuity, IOP and keratometer findings were documented for preoperative and postoperative periods during postoperative day 1, first week and 6th week following surgery.
RESULTS:Majority were females between 50-65 years. There was a statistically significant improvement in the visual acuity between preoperative and postoperative periods (p < 0.001). Similar findings were observed with K1 values between the preoperative and postoperative period (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION:Simultaneous management of pterygium and senile cataract is an ideal method, especially in developing countries like India, where several socioeconomic and other comorbidities can adversely affect the patient compliance and surgical outcome. KEY WORDS:Pterygium,Cataract,Conjunctival Autograft
