Abstract

Introduction: Placement of IOL in bag is the ultimate desired goal of every cataract surgery . In the bag placement of IOL has many advantages like quicker visual recovery , more stable visual status and less chances of PCO . But sometimes IOL may displace from its ideal position because of intraoperative complications or pre existing pathology .

Method: This video demonstrates various such cases like IOL subluxation , IOL dislocation in vitreous cavity , optic capture of IOL in AC or ACIOL . Various methods of correction of malpositions like IOL relocation , IOL explantation, IOL exchange( foldable with PMMA or PMMA with PMMA) , Implantation of IOL in sulcus or over capsular remnants or scleral fixation of IOL are also being demonstrated in this video .

Conclusion: This video shows that with timely use of proper vitreoretinal techniques excellent visual outcome can be achieved in complicated cataract surgeries.
